The
Ajman economy has been, since ancient times, relying on
fishing and trade, which helped enable Ajman to enjoy
a distinctive status among the other Emirates. Ajman has
witnessed in recent years rapid economic development and

growth with the ushering of Ajman into an era of heavy

to a marked growth in the various economic sectors in
the last few years.

sagacious directives of His Highness Shaikh Humaid bin
Rashid Al Nuaimi, member of the Supreme Council and
Ruler of Ajman and his keenness to instruct the competent
bodies to remove all obstacles hindering business activities
paved the way for realization of remarkable achievements
on the economic front. Thus within a short span of time
Ajman has emerged as a modern city equipped with principal
public utilities. Despite the modernization efforts
Ajman has preserved its ancient traditional character,
becoming a city combining technological achievements
of modern times and the cultural wealth of bygone years.
